Eligibility

  • Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree within the past five years and no later than July 1, 2025.
  • The primary criterion for selection is evidence of scholarship potentially competitive for tenure track appointments at a research university.
  • A critical secondary criterion is the support of prospective departments.
  • Please note that currently, only STEM fields as defined by NSF are supported by this fellowship (see list below)
  • All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at the time of application. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte strongly encourages applications from African American, Native American and Latino/Hispanic scholars.
  • Applicants should be interested in a career in academe and in working with and supporting students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds and entries into the institution.
  • Selection is contingent on the availability of an appropriate mentoring environment.
