- Cover letter/letter of interest
- Thesis abstract – one page
- Research Proposal – 700-1,000 words (not including references and citations). This should describe your commitment to pursuing an academic career and include a discussion of who you will work with at UNC Charlotte. Please note: You must have obtained the sponsorship of a tenured/senior tenure track faculty member (other than your Ph.D. dissertation advisor) who is willing to serve as your primary mentor at UNC Charlotte
- Education and Background Statement – 500-700 words describing your personal background and current and future contributions to working with and supporting students from a wide range of cultures, academic backgrounds and entries into higher education.
- Curriculum vitae
- Writing sample – sample publication or unpublished paper, please limit to 35 pages (not including references and citations)
- Contact information for three references. One letter should be from the applicant’s dissertation advisor or faculty mentor
